NeuroDivine

NeuroDivine is a contemplative writing project rooted in prayer, pilgrimage, parish life, and the quiet holiness of ordinary things.

Through reflections, hymns, psalms, poetry, and resources for worship, the site explores the meeting place of faith, neurodiversity, chronic illness, creativity, and everyday life. It is shaped by the conviction that God is present not only in cathedrals and holy places, but also in train journeys, dialysis units, parish halls, familiar landscapes, and the small moments that often pass unnoticed.

Our Identity & Inspiration

The name NeuroDivine reflects a belief that human diversity is not a problem to be solved but a gift through which we may encounter the divine. While many articles draw on experiences of autism, chronic illness, and disability, the site is not solely about these subjects. Rather, it seeks to discover how faith is lived, expressed, and deepened through the realities of ordinary life.

Rooted in the Anglican tradition and informed by Benedictine spirituality, NeuroDivine values prayer, hospitality, learning, and attentive presence. The site draws inspiration from the scriptures, the Christian saints, the Celtic and monastic traditions of these islands, and the landscapes of Ireland and beyond.

The Streams of Our Work

The work published here falls broadly into several streams:

• Psalms: An ongoing exploration of the biblical Psalter through hymnody, reflection, prayer, and poetry, including material from A Pilgrim’s Psalter of Earth and Light.

• Hymns: Original hymns for worship, the Church Year, saints’ days, pilgrimage, and contemporary Christian life, written to be sung by congregations and individuals alike.

• Reflections: Essays and meditations on faith, pilgrimage, parish life, neurodiversity, chronic illness, inclusion, and the search for grace in unexpected places.

• Poetry: Poems inspired by scripture, landscape, memory, prayer, and the ordinary experiences of daily living.

• Resources: Materials for worship, study, and personal devotion, offered for use in churches, communities, and individual spiritual practice.

Whether you arrive here as a pilgrim, worshipper, seeker, church musician, reader, or simply a curious visitor, you are warmly welcome.

May you find here something of earth and light, prayer and wonder, and the gentle presence of God in unexpected places. If you find something here that speaks to you—a hymn, a reflection, a prayer, or a small fragment of grace—you are warmly welcome to carry it with you.

These works are written to be used—in worship, in reflection,
