Hymn | St Bartholomew | Isaiah 43:8–13 | Psalm 145:1–7 | Acts 5:12-16 | Luke 22:25–30 | 24 August 2026
O Christ who calls the blind to see
1.
O Christ who calls the blind to see,
Whose word declares the captives free,
In Irish fields your truth is told—
Bright as the meadow‑sweet’s white gold.
2.
You name us yours, from dawn to night;
No other god can match your might.
Along th’Atlantic’s restless roar,
Your steadfast mercies rise and glow.
3.
Your saints walked forth in fearless grace,
And healing stirred when you drew near.
Like curlew cries on lonely shore,
Their faith resounds for evermore.
4.
When pride divides, Lord, make us one;
Teach us the service you have done.
As Barth’lomew in grace obeyed,
Form us as servants, humbly made.
5.
At Eucharist on hill or glen,
You feed us in the hearts of men.
In bread and wine your gifts restore—
Our strength renewed for evermore.
6.
Send us to walk where saints have trod
Through peat‑soft paths and furze‑lined sod;
Your kingdom comes in quiet ways—
Through faithful hearts and steadfast praise.
